Chasing the Dream:
An Interview with Working Actor Jared Boghosian
by Jagger Trouant

films as Always Be Cautious and Abstract Underwraps. Additionally, several titles soon to be released include The Periphery, Gotta Lighten Up, Immersion, and a new webseries Just Life, premiering this summer. It’s clear that this man has had his mind set on his goals and he is reaping the rewards. In an effort to examine what his life has been like, and what a job in the film industry might entail, I sat down for a Skype interview with him:
Jagger: You have been a busy man for quite some time now. In this interview I would like to take it back a bit and recount some of your works leading up to present day. For instance, I am particularly interested in a piece you did in college entitled Fuddy Meers, where you played Millet/Hinky Binky. It featured a puppet in which you voiced and was a very enjoyable, believable performance, and I wanted to know more about it.
Jared: Well, David Lindsay-Abaire wrote it. The director was on a bit of a kick; he also did Rabbit hole my junior year. Fuddy Meers was my senior year, fall 2011. That was a hell of an experience. I still have the puppet.
Jagger: So continuing on that path, you have a lot of work from college theater up online; Elephant’s graveyard, Wonder Hat, a monologue from Home Free. What were your thoughts at that time? Were you more set on stage or were you geared toward film or a little of both?
Jared: It just seemed like theater was, in small towns, easier. It’s easier to be more involved than film. The focus at the time was more theater but I knew that what I wanted to do was pursue a lot of film. So I think getting some things on tape, creating and hashing out these short films, was a way for me to make an introduction and start getting used to it. Everything I do from now on I try to make a little better, because I learn from everything I do. Everything that I write and put on camera, I apply to the next project. Literally, the work that I do now is made possible through everything that I have done.
Jagger: And moving from one thing to the next, how much of this has been contact based? Kind of like moving from one thing to the next based on people that you have met and helped you along the way. I know you have been part of some comedy improve clubs, workshops, as well as what appears to be an open mic joint? Do you form alliances with these groups or work on scripts and films together?
Jared: Oh boy. I haven’t gone to an open mic in a while! But I make a lot of friends that way. And there is a group that I meet with every Wednesday night, called We Make Movies and if you follow me on twitter, every Wednesday I explode because I am live tweeting everything- it’s usually inappropriate! But they’re a good group of people and they are creating a lot of stuff and a lot of content. A lot of people have already come up to me and want to work with me and I’m excited for that because they are all amazingly talented people; all great writers, actors, producers, everything under the sun. That’s a good group to be a part of; it’s good to have people like that to collaborate with. I also did do an Improv Boston workshop with Lawn Chair Pirates and that was great.
Jagger: Now, I have entitled this next question “Fun Question”
Jared: Yay!
Jagger: What can you just not wait to do in your field? Where do you want to take it? Are you aiming for the Oscars? I have seen that you are fond of Robert Downey Jr- are there actors like him you hope to work with?
Jared: Oh, I will work with him one day! I could definitely play his son in anything he does if he ever plays a father! Or a time travel movie! I can’t wait to be on Shameless. If you’ve ever seen that show, it just has me written all over it. Everything about it; character types, age range, things they go through. I believe the show is in my wheelhouse. I can wait to win an Oscar though. The only reason I would want an Oscar at the moment, is so that I could justify asking Jennifer Lawrence out on a date- which would be my acceptance speech! But for now, whatever happens I am always excited to do it!
And we will be excited to see it! Mr. Boghosian has quite a following on the UMF campus and beyond. Not to mention a lot of friends and family to support and encourage him- a key ingredient to the life of an actor. With his team backing him and the palm trees at his side, Boghosian is ready for anything.

Jared Boghosian is an interesting, determined, and driven fellow- to say the very least. Having graduated UMF in 2012, he quickly began mapping out a future and putting plans into action. Boghosian’s father, who spent a number of years in the L.A area, became powerful asset to the young actor and proved resourceful in helping him make the move from Maine. Today, Boghosian is still chasing the dream and auditioning for everything and anything that comes his way. He is credited as an actor, writer, producer, editor, and cinematographer and has been a part of such
